Helping people who feel anxious and overwhelmed become happier, calmer and more confident
♦ Is your mind racing and just won’t keep quiet?
♦ Do you find it difficult to relax?
♦ Are you avoiding the things you used to enjoy or find easy?
♦ Are you experiencing unpleasant physical sensations?
For most people anxiety creeps up on them unawares. It’s a stealthy operator. So stealthy that people usually don’t notice it until they experience some kind of physical symptom. Heart racing, quickness of breath, tightness in the throat or chest, unpleasant sensations in the stomach, clammy hands, visual disturbances — these are all classic symptoms. It often disrupts sleep too. A quick trip to the GP usually confirms that anxiety is the culprit.
Anxiety isn’t content with making you feel bad it also wants to rob you of your freedom, spoil your fun and your social life. It makes you worry about things that you’d never contemplated before. And I’ll bet you’ve started avoiding or putting off some of the things which you used to do easily — even things you would normally enjoy. You may have created rational explanations to justify your reluctance but the truth is likely to be that anxiety has got its grip on you. Left unchecked, anxiety is a greedy parasite that wants to devour up more and more of your life.
The good news
The good news is that it’s definitely possible to conquer anxiety and in a relatively short space of time. I’ve witnessed some people recover from quite severe anxiety in a matter of weeks. I can’t guarantee that it’ll be that fast for you but with commitment and effort, it’s amazing what can be achieved. Together we’ll work to find the best way for you to get anxiety off your back so that you can get on with enjoying your life.
