My Google Analytics account is set to retain user-level and event-level data for 14 months. This is separate from the lifespan of the cookies themselves. Google’s retention setting does not necessarily remove information contained in its standard aggregated reports.

I use the resulting information to understand website journeys, evaluate how visitors reach the site and improve its content and operation. I do not use it for advertising.
